Mulgrave

An exploration of abstract photography in three parts. From 2011 to 2014 I visited Port Mulgrave repeatedly and explored a number of ideas including the crossover between photography and painting, various abstract techniques borrowed from music, and transformation. I used what was to hand — fishing huts, boats, the beach — as raw material, but the subject was never the object in the frame. The work was made entirely on 5×4 Velvia. It changed how I photograph.
