'Frosted Heather and Tree'
I nearly missed this image. One of the biggest lessons I have learned is to recognise when it is time to adapt the plan.
Very early one frosty morning I had setup a 'classic' Peak District dawn vista, as planned the night before. However as the clock edged slowly towards dawn I became increasingly concerned that I wasn't going to make the best of the conditions.
The dawn, whilst nice, would not be special. I fired off a quick pre dawn image and then took the bold move of packing up and hunting for an image that made better use of the unusual conditions of frosted heather. A few minutes later, this idea presented itself and I setup ready for first light.
Technical Details: Linhof Technikardan, Velvia 50, 240mm lens. No filtration.

Sometimes a picture is just a little more than the sum of its parts.
